The Moutrie piano originated in England in
1856 as an affiliate of the Collard piano company. In 1890 its founder,
William Moutrie, relocated the piano factory to China in order to meet the
demands of the growing number of expatriates in the far east. Moutrie pianos
were constructed from solid durable materials to withstand the demands of
the hot and humid climate.
Today, over 150 years from their first
appearance, Moutrie pianos are still built to last. They are excellent
instruments for all pianists; from the beginner through to the concert
performer.
The Moutrie company is truly proud of its
products, which use the finest materials and production techniques sourced
worldwide. The action is german-designed, and the strings and tuning pin
block are made in Germany - the strings by Roslau and the pin block by
Dehonitt. The soundboard is Tibetan spruce, while the bridge is made from
advanced grade European maple and designed to increase the speed of sound
transmission and produce extra tonal clarity from the strings to the
soundboard. Brass agraffes are fitted to the piano frame. These increase the
clarity and longevity of individual string vibration. All Moutrie pianos are
fitted with the finest quality German hammers and Louis Renner designed
action.
The lid uses hydraulic 'soft fall'
technology, to safeguard small fingers.
If you are looking for a quality instrument
with good resonance, a beautiful sound, full dynamic range, and elegant
styling then you need look no further.
All our pianos come with a full 5 year
guarantee.
